A Case of Amputation Neuroma on Common Hepatic Duct

Abstract
Amputation neuroma may form from cut ends of nerve fiver divided in the course of surgery on biliary tree. It is made up of masses of interlacing axons, intermixed with scar tissue. Most of them arise in cystic duct stump after cholecystectomy
and
some
authors attribute the pain of postcholecystectomy syndrome to cystic duct neuroma. But this association is debatable. Although amputation neuroma in bile duct was very rare, it was also arise in bile duct and may cause obstructive jaundice or
biliary
colic. A correct clinical diagnosis has rarely been made and surgial correction improves patient's symptome.
We experienced a case of amputation neuroma on common hepatic duct, so we report our experience and review of literature.
